Student Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 7 August 2026

1. Acceptance

By registering with DRU – A Professional FET College (‘the College’), the student agrees to these Terms and Conditions and all applicable College policies.

2. Admission

Admission is subject to meeting programme entry requirements, submission of all required documentation, verification of qualifications and availability of space.

3. Registration

Registration is only confirmed once all required documentation has been received and applicable registration fees have been paid or an approved payment arrangement is in place.

4. Tuition Fees and Payments

Students are responsible for all tuition fees and other charges. Fees must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule. Outstanding fees may result in suspension of services, withholding of results or certificates, or cancellation of registration where permitted.

5. Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, practical sessions, workplace learning and assessments. Excessive absenteeism may affect eligibility for assessments or certification.

6. Assessments

Students must complete all assessments honestly and comply with academic integrity requirements. Plagiarism, cheating or misconduct may lead to disciplinary action.

7. Student Conduct

Students must behave respectfully towards staff, fellow students and visitors. Harassment, discrimination, violence, substance abuse, theft, vandalism or any unlawful conduct may result in disciplinary action or dismissal.

8. Academic Records and Certification

Certificates and statements of results will only be issued after all academic requirements and financial obligations have been met and where certification is approved by the relevant quality assurance body.

9. Withdrawal and Cancellation

Students wishing to withdraw must notify the College in writing. Any refund will be handled in accordance with the College’s Refund and Cancellation Policy.

10. Refunds

Registration fees may be non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Tuition fee refunds, where applicable, will be determined according to the College policy and applicable legislation.

11. Protection of Personal Information

The College processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

12. Intellectual Property

Learning materials supplied by the College remain its intellectual property and may not be copied, distributed or sold without written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

The College will take reasonable care in providing educational services but is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

14. Changes to Programmes

The College reserves the right to amend timetables, lecturers, venues, learning methods, assessment schedules or programme offerings where reasonably necessary.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
