GUIDING PRINCIPLES

In order to realise the objective of creating a work environment for all its employees and students, this policy must be interpreted and implemented in accordance with the following principles:

• The Privacy Policy is implemented to promote a culture of respect for the dignity of all employees and students.
• The individual’s rights to confidentiality and freedom from discrimination are protected.
• Behaviours should be promoted that reduce or minimise the misuse of information.
• Final accountability for the successful implementation of this policy lies with management. Heads of departments and support staff line managers are responsible for the actual implementation of this policy.
