PURPOSE

The purpose of the Privacy Policy is to provide guiding principles, an institutional framework and basic strategies for the protection of information at DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE.

Scope

The Privacy Policy of DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE is implemented with recognition of the nature of an institution of scientific practice and scholarship.

DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE recognises the seriousness of the protection of information and the potential impact that it could have on the legitimacy of the institution and is committed to protect the unlawful use of information.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

In order to realise the objective of creating a work environment for all its employees and students, this policy must be interpreted and implemented in accordance with the following principles:

  • The Privacy Policy is implemented to promote a culture of respect for the dignity of all employees and students.
  • The individual’s rights to confidentiality and freedom from discrimination are protected.
  • Behaviours should be promoted that reduce or minimise the misuse of information.
  • Final accountability for the successful implementation of this policy lies with management. Heads of departments and support staff line managers are responsible for the actual implementation of this policy. Their commitment to its implementation forms part of their performance appraisal areas.

DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE Administration has primary responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of this policy.

DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE Administration provides guidelines to ensure standardisation and to provide strategies and procedures for the implementation of the Privacy Policy of DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE.

DRU-A PROFESSIONAL FURTHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING COLLEGE management ensures that appropriate guidance is provided to all personnel involved in the implementation of the Privacy Policy.
